Artificial Intelligence has redefined the boundaries of software development and legacy system modernisation. At Valuemate we recently completed the migration and full rewrite of a warehouse management and logistics application built on Microsoft Access, executing the entire development process exclusively through advanced AI models.
The success of this transition was made possible by feeding the AI with a detailed body of knowledge, including the structural analysis of the original database, the mapping of logistics processes and business technical specifications. This knowledge base enabled the AI to deeply understand the application domain and generate a modern, secure and scalable architecture on SQL Server.
Throughout the project, the AI entirely rewrote the stock movement engine and user interfaces, natively implementing complex business logic and high-level corporate security requirements.
Key features developed
Role management and access control — implementation of a granular structure for segregation of duties and user authorisation within the platform.
Security and regulatory compliance — integration of a password management system fully compliant with GDPR requirements, with complexity policies, secure hashing and rotation criteria.
Process integrity — transposition and optimisation of all pre-existing business rules into the new SQL relational engine.
The result
This project demonstrates how the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence can accelerate time-to-market and eliminate the risk of business logic loss typical of traditional migrations. The Valuemate team guided the project by focusing on governance, process analysis and quality control, transforming a legacy application into a Cloud-ready platform.
