Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about Valuemate's services, technologies and expertise.
Valuemate s.r.l. is an Italian ICT services company with operational offices in Turin (Corso Valdocco 2) and Ivrea (Via Jervis 11/D), Piedmont, Italy. It employs 70 certified professionals and operates through 4 business units: Digital Services, IT Staffing, Cybersecurity Competence Center and Systems Engineering.
Valuemate professionals hold certifications on major enterprise technologies: Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, Fortinet, Barracuda, Nutanix, Dell, HP, Veeam and Acronis, covering networking, virtualisation, security, backup and operating systems.
Valuemate operates in enterprise and large corporate environments, with experience in manufacturing, banking and finance, insurance, healthcare, retail, energy and utilities. Expertise is particularly strong in regulated environments subject to NIS2, DORA and GDPR.
Operational offices are in Turin and Ivrea, but digital services are delivered nationwide. The 24/7 Service Desk and remote monitoring have no geographic constraints. For on-site support, proximity in Piedmont ensures reduced intervention times.
An internal IT team requires hiring, continuous training, holiday and sick cover, and investment in monitoring tools. Valuemate offers 70 certified professionals, 24/7 support, best-of-breed technologies already operational and SLAs with penalties. The client gets a higher service level at a predictable cost, freeing internal resources for strategic projects.
Valuemate operates primarily in the enterprise sector in Piedmont and Northern Italy, with clients in manufacturing, financial services, organised distribution, professional services and local public administration.
Valuemate operates according to international frameworks (ITIL 4, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST) and supports clients in achieving compliance with NIS2, DORA, EU AI Act and GDPR.
Valuemate operates a 24/7/365 Service Desk structured on three support tiers (L1, L2, L3) with contractual SLAs. The ticketing system is based on GLPI, a customisable open-source ITSM platform integrated with Active Directory, email, monitoring and CMDB. It includes a self-service user portal, knowledge base, dashboards and real-time reporting.
Digital Workplace Management (DWPM) is Valuemate's service that manages the entire end-user digital workspace: software distribution, patch management, device management, on-site support, ticketing and traceability. It includes remote and on-site support with guaranteed SLAs.
Every managed service operates under a structured governance framework: dedicated Service Manager as single point of accountability, ITIL processes for incident, problem and change management, quantified SLAs with contractual penalties, periodic Service Reviews with the client and a continuous improvement programme based on root cause analysis.
SLAs are contractually defined for each service and include response times, resolution times and service availability. Every indicator has a numeric value and a penalty for non-compliance. KPIs are monitored in real time through dashboards shared with the client.
GLPI is an open-source IT Service Management platform that Valuemate customises and integrates with client systems: Active Directory, email, monitoring and CMDB. The open-source choice ensures the client retains full data control, portability and no vendor lock-in.
Cost depends on scope (number of users, coverage hours, service levels). Valuemate operates on a recurring monthly fee with contractual SLAs, not on a per-call basis. This model aligns incentives: fewer incidents mean lower costs for both parties. A free assessment is available for a personalised estimate.
The process follows 4 structured phases: Assessment (infrastructure and process analysis), Design (architecture, SLAs, escalation matrix), Transition (operational migration, GLPI configuration, knowledge transfer) and Operations (continuous management with periodic Service Reviews).
It means the infrastructure is natively designed for cloud and remote access, not retrofitted. Users work from any location with the same experience, security and performance as in the office.
SLA (Service Level Agreement) is the contract with guaranteed metrics. SLO (Service Level Objective) is the internal target more ambitious than the contractual minimum. XLA (Experience Level Agreement) measures user-perceived quality, not just technical availability.
The Competence Center operates across 6 domains with best-of-breed technologies: Endpoint & Infrastructure (Sophos), Vulnerability Management (NinjaOne), IAM/PAM (Keeper Security), Network Security and OT (Forescout), Cloud Security (Upwind), Cyber Risk Management (AI.ESRA with continuous CyberRating).
Yes. Valuemate provides process and technology consulting for NIS2 Directive and DORA Regulation compliance. The service includes gap analysis, requirements mapping, implementation of technical and organisational measures, and ongoing compliance maintenance. A free online Cyber Risk Scanner is also available for self-assessment.
Valuemate's Zero-Trust architecture is based on 'never trust, always verify': every access is authenticated and authorised based on identity, device, location and risk level. It includes privileged identity management, network micro-segmentation, continuous behavioural monitoring and least-privilege access policies.
The Cybersecurity Competence Center integrates threat monitoring and response capabilities across 6 specialisation domains. Detection uses Managed Detection & Response technologies on endpoints and behavioural analysis on IT/OT networks. Incident response follows structured procedures with defined escalation paths.
Zero Trust is a security architecture where no access is trusted by default: every request is verified in real time based on identity, context and device posture. Reference: NIST SP 800-207.
XDR (Extended Detection and Response) correlates signals from endpoint, network, cloud and identity into a single detection engine, reducing mean time to detect (MTTD) by 60-80% compared to siloed solutions.
Valuemate's IT Staffing provides certified IT professionals in staff augmentation mode: resources are embedded in the client's team for the project duration, with skills ranging from networking and security to virtualisation, cloud and systems engineering. The service covers junior, senior and specialist profiles.
Valuemate's Systems Engineering service applies Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to manage the complexity of IT and industrial systems: requirements management, traceability, V-model verification, impact analysis and standards compliance. It replaces traditional documentation with a single, coherent, traceable digital model.
AI-LAB is Valuemate's section dedicated to exploratory projects built entirely with Artificial Intelligence. It currently hosts 4 interactive tools: Prompt Perfector, Password Resilience Tester, Enigma & Turing's Bombe simulator, and the Day/Night Terminator map. All tools run in the browser without sending data to external servers.
Valuemate integrates AI across several areas: it completed the full migration and rewrite of a warehouse management application from Microsoft Access to SQL Server using exclusively AI models for development. The AI-LAB demonstrates the team's capabilities with Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT. AI is also applied in Service Desk automation and cyber risk analysis.
Yes. Valuemate provides compliance assessment, corporate cyber risk evaluation and regulatory advisory for NIS2 Directive and DORA Regulation compliance, with operational offices in Turin and Ivrea. The service includes gap analysis, remediation plan, technical measures implementation and ongoing compliance support.
Yes. The Cybersecurity Competence Center includes a dedicated IT/OT network security domain with full visibility, micro-segmentation and anomaly detection. This capability is particularly relevant for manufacturing and critical infrastructure subject to NIS2.
AI is applied in three operational areas: automatic ticket classification and routing in the Service Desk, predictive incident analysis to anticipate problems before they impact users, and automation of repetitive endpoint management tasks.
Valuemate Next is the internal AI upskilling programme for all Valuemate professionals. It stems from the conviction that you cannot advise clients to adopt AI if your own team does not use it every day. The programme includes continuous training, identification of AI Pioneers in each Business Unit, and operational application of AI to real company processes.
AI Pioneers are people enthusiastic about Artificial Intelligence, directly involved in activities where AI makes a real difference. They bring concrete use cases, experiment with new tools and inspire colleagues by example.
For Valuemate Next our people train through Rizzo AI Academy, Italy's leading AI community with over 100,000 professionals. Founded by Simone Rizzo, it offers practical courses on LLMs, AI agents, automations, model security and local AI. The programme is not theory: every training path is designed to generate concrete operational outputs applicable to each Business Unit's processes.
The training paths cover: building AI agents and multi-agent systems with RAG and MCP, no-code automations with N8N, AI model security (prompt injection, jailbreaking and defences), LLM deployment in proprietary infrastructure without public cloud, and Vibe coding with Claude Code and SpecDriven practices to build working applications.
Valuemate Next is the credible foundation for the AI Services offering: before bringing artificial intelligence into clients' organisations, the team masters it from within. The AI Pioneers in each BU ensure that expertise is real and operational, not merely stated. Discover the Valuemate Next programme.

StockWave is the warehouse management system developed by Valuemate, designed for organisations that work by project. Unlike a generic WMS, every movement, stock record and document speaks the language of the project: which customer, which project, which contract. It includes an operational dashboard, end-to-end serial traceability, smart location management and integration with ERP and ticketing systems. Discover StockWave →
StockWave is available both as a managed service (on Valuemate infrastructure) and on-premise. In the as-a-Service mode, activation for a new customer requires no infrastructure setup: the warehouse is operational from day one.
The DEX Score (Digital Employee Experience) measures the quality of the digital experience perceived by users: application launch times, video call latency, OS stability, micro-downtime frequency. It bridges technology investment and real productivity.
It is a device's ability to self-configure via cloud identity and corporate policies within 15 minutes of first boot, without IT team intervention. The PC is shipped to the employee and configures itself.
